Is the Hot & Healthy Habits Summer Bootcamp for me?
Yes! The workout is designed for all fitness levels! As always, consult with your physician to make sure you are healthy enough for exercise. But once you get the green light, then you're ready to rock! If you're looking for a quick workout that keeps your body guessing, increases endurance and strength, and gives you the option to sweat without having to think about it (aka: I'll tell you what to do! You just follow!), then this workout is for you!
What if I can't perform a certain exercise and can't keep up with the rest of the group?
All of the exercises during the workouts can be modified to fit your fitness level. Whether you're dealing with a past injury or restriction, or you're just having one of those days and need a alternate option, you are not expected to keep up with anybody else or do any activity that you don't feel comfortable with. Hot & Healthy Habits celebrates all levels of fitness, so if you need to take a break from one exercise and jump into the next one, we encourage you to do that! This is a judgement-free, I-won't-scream-in-your-face experience!
I'm a little nervous. Could you give me a summary of what to expect?
Of course! We will all meet at the front entrance of Sevier Park (Kirkwood and 12th Avenue) in Nashville at the designated time you signed up for. After a brief introduction we will get started with a 5-minute warm-up consisting of either a light jog, fast pace walking, jumping jacks, or another move to get your muscles warmed up and ready to go! A 5-minute, full body stretch will follow where you can choose to do your own stretches or follow my lead. We will then go straight into 30 minutes of that specific day's cardio and strength exercises around the park.
Each day's workout will be a little different than the one before to keep your body guessing and to help with boredom. Some days we will work around the park and some days we will workout in one area of the park. We will finish the workout with a 5 minute cool-down.
Ummm... the word "bootcamp" sounds intimidating. Should I be nervous?
Yes, the word "bootcamp" can be intimidating, but you shouldn't be nervous when you're doing it the Hot & Healthy Habits way! Our Summer Bootcamp will challenge you and encourage you to go one step further, but we are not here to overwork you or make you feel bad for needing to slow down, take a break, or just have a mental "you" moment. Our goal with the Hot & Healthy Habits Summer Bootcamps is to encourage you to get to know your own limits and challenge yourself the best way for you. We'll be there to give you the tools and support to do just that!
Can I participate if I have an injury?
If your physician has cleared you for exercise, you can participate! All of the exercises during the workouts can be modified to fit your fitness level and accommodate a minor injury. You are not expected to keep up with anybody else or do any activity that you don't feel comfortable with. Where do I park?
Parking for the Hot & Healthy Summer Bootcamp is available at the Sevier Parks front entrance on the corner of Kirkwood and 12 South, and the parking area near the playground on Clayton Avenue. *IMPORTANT: Parking at the Sevier Community Center is prohibited for Hot & Healthy Habits Bootcamp attendees*
What do I bring?
Make sure you are wearing comfortable workout attire and athletic shoes! Also, please bring a water bottle! We will be running/walking throughout the park on some days for a few minutes at a time, so make sure to bring a water bottle that you feel comfortable holding when needed.
Can I join the Hot & Healthy Habits Summer Bootcamp after the official start date of August 9th?
Absolutely! While we encourage you to commit to the full 6 weeks for better accountability, we want you and any friends throughout the 6 weeks to have the option to jump in after August 9th as well! Feel free to purchase one time workouts whenever your schedule permits. *Please read refund and cancellation policy here for more details*
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Here are all the details!
- Single purchase workouts: If you have to miss a workout that you registered for, all we ask is that you give 24 hours notice by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. While we do not offer refunds, you will receive a credit that you can apply to any other HHH Summer Bootcamp class. If you do not cancel within 24 hours, you will lose that workout and the credit.
- 6 weeks unlimited: After one week you can cancel your package for a 50% refund. After one week, no refunds are available.
